The Oscars

I’m currently watching the 2011 Oscars with my father (he would hate to admit, but he loves watching these shows with me).  Here are his thoughts on the ladies of the red carpet: Anne Hathaway is unconventionally just so pretty, her red dress was beautiful but was a bit much–just not a fan of the “bit much”.  Halle Berry doesn’t need all the ruffles around her legs, she is too perfect for all that junk. I perferred Nicole’s Golden Globe dress to her Oscar’s dress. Reese is always a classic–he said, “She doesn’t have to struggle to hold up the dress. Classic Lines. Old School.  Now that is a perfect dress.”  His favorite dressed lady of the evening was, undoubtably, Reese Witherspoon’s.  Now I did agree with him on best-dressed, but here are my other top picks of the evening.

And the awards go to…

Best Overall & Best Classic Retro-Inspired Look:

Reese Witherspoon in Giogio Armani Prive.

“Simple. Classy. Classic.  Grace Kelly would be proud.” said my father.

Gwyneth Paltrow in Calvin Klein.

Best Detailed Gown:

Cate Blanchett in Givenchy Couture.

 Best On-Screen Duo:

Best Red Hot Red (a tie of course):

 Sandra Bullock in Vera Wang.

Anne Hathaway in Valentino.
